Shell Object Editor is a program that allows you to create and delete new shell objects. A shell object is not a real folder on your hard drive, but a special shortcut that refers to the real folder. Using Shell Object Editor you can create shell objects on the desktop, in the "My Computer", "Control Panel" and "Network Neighborhood" folders. The examples of the shell object may be the "My Documents" folder and the "Internet Explorer" shortcut on your desktop.
Shell Object Editor provides you with a nice and easy dialog wizard to make detailed settings. It offers you 5 steps to create a new shell object. Start the program, click the "Create New" button, then enter the name of a new item, select the function (it will behave like a folder or like a program), change the default icon if you want (also it can be icons from an ICO or DLL file you created yourself), specify who will have access to it and position where it will show up, choose a special flag and click "Finish".
Shell Object Editor contains the "Safety" feature to save your data – it is possible to delete only the objects that have been created with this program. If you need to delete the other ones, you should do it in the expert mode.
